Building a Community
     By and For The Batwa:  
     BATWA HOPE VILLAGE

Why focus on housing? Currently, housing at Kisoro Hill consists of trash huts.  They leak during the rainy season. They are unsanitary, with no water available, and no toilet nearby. They are too small. RIGHT NOW....40% of children do not survive, partially due to unsanitary living conditions!

The Ugandan government has issued eviction notices for the Mikiingo Batwa. They must vacate the land where they are currently squatting. They fear separation, so they must move as a community . ​

We are excited to support the Batwa in building their own homes at Batwa Hope Village, near Cyanika.
